Slamp entered the lighting market in 1994 with the now famous Slamp Tube. A simple tube lamp design, uniquely decorated by leading designers, it introduced Slamp to an international audience. Each designer personalised the tube, creating what became the classic Atelier collection.

In 2001, an image of the Slamp Mimi table light, designed by Massimiliano Datti, was printed on postage stamps issued by Italian Mail, recognition that Slamp was now a respected international brand. When Nigel Coates created the Slampville collection, and later Fiorellina table light won the Homes and Gardens Classic Design Award, the Slamp brand achieved worldwide recognition.
