Mila, Miguel

Miguel Mila was born in Barcelona in 1931. He was born to an aristocratic Catalan family with a strong artistic history, it was in this environment that he developed his love for art and design. Miguel Mila began his professional career working as an interior designer in the Architectural office of his brother Alfonso Mila, and friend Federico Correa.

After setting up the company Tramo, with his friends F. Ribas Barange and E. Perez Ullibari, Miguel Mila began his long association with contemporary industrial design. His designs include numerous contempoary classics, including the famous TMM and TMC lamps which were origianlly design in 1958 and 1961 respectively.

In 2008 Miguel Mila received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro in recognition of his numerous career achievements, and his contribution to the promotion of Spanish design.
